Hi ALL, new here virus vault shows 3 dll infected files, what should i do??

The three files in ???the virus vault are as follows:
kernel32.dll
winsock.dll
wsock32.dll

What do i do? do i delete them? Norton also says i have hacktool, dont know if these files have anything to do with that, THANX for any help u can give me!!!

I really do wish Alwil would get rid of this All Chest Files collation of the three sections:

  • The only area you should be interested in is the Infected Files section, this is where the files detected by avast and selected by you to move to the chest are placed.- The User Files section is where the user can add files they suspect of being malware but not detected by avast.- The System Files section is where avast keeps back-up copies of important system files in case the original becomes infected (leave them alone).- The All Chest Files is a collation of the three sections.

Is Norton also installed as this is a big no, no ?

Having two resident anti-virus scanners, rather than provide twice the protection it can cause conflicts that could leave you more vulnerable.

hello friend, well, avast virus chest is divided in three sections, infected files, system files and user files, so u need to see where are they located, so we can help u. Because, when u select virus bault, it lists the files that are in the three sections, u need to expand virus vault to see where are located. If they are in system files, everything is ok, but if they are in infected files, u need to send a copy to avast support team, so they can analize them. Take care pal!

THEY ARE IN SYSTEM FILES, HOWEVER AFTER A SCAN IT SAYS THERE IS AN INFECTED FILE BUT IT DOES NOT SHOW UP IN THE VAULT IT READS AS FOLLOWS:

C:ProgramFiles\Qdtkfatucpfwr\sstAn-ern.dll

why dont u try a boot scan? it is safer for u, to do a boot scan. So the file u say is a virus can be removed. And about the other files, they are ok, because avast do a backup from windows dlls in case some malware or virus mess them, u can recover them from the avast protected backup.

What type of scan were you doing ?

It won’t show up in the chest, unless you specifically sent it there as an option during the detection. So when it was detected what options were given and more importantly which did you chose ?
