It is possible to to choose in avast that class of files to scan?
Example: jpg, png, avi, mp4, txt, doc…
You can set the Standard Shield settings for that. Both for open and create/modified ones.
thanks tech…
but i say when I scan the system, not the resident.
No, it’s not possible. You can choose to scan everything including or not the archive files.
A lot would depend on the Sensitivity of the scan you choose, as the majority of those files wouldn’t get scanned by a Quick or Standard scan as they aren’t considered immediately dangerous or have been used in infections, the .doc, jpg files would certainly get scanned as there are .jpg exploits, but the others probably wouldn’t get scanned.

thanks tech and davidr for your help.
I scan in standard and compressed files.
I scan 200000 files in 25 minutes.
It would be better: thorough scan.
All that is late thorough scan?
I’m not following you… can you rephrase? Sorry, not English-native…
You’re welcome.
If you are asking would it be better to do a thorough scan, I would say no, I would also not bother with archive files either.
Archive (zip, rar, etc.) files are by their nature are inert, you need to extract the files and then you have to run them to be a threat. Long before that happens avast’s Standard Shield should have scanned them and before an executable is run that is scanned. Thorough is also by its design very thorough and perhaps a little overkill for routine use, were a Standard scan without archives should be adequate.
I have only ever done a Through Scan with Archives once shortly after installation just to ensure a clean start state, but with XP for example avast will do a boot-time scan after installation if you select it, this I believe will be quicker and reasonably effective. Like everything in life things are a compromise.
