Hey everyone!
I’m a new avast-user and new to this forum, and stumbled upon a problem…
I ran the antivirus scan and avast found a virus/trojan/worm (?), the one ending with -gen (saw another post about it in this forum) in C:_\restore\temp\A0058027.cpy (whatever file that is…)
I wasn’t allowed to put it in the virus chest (for some reason; access denied?) so I thought the next best thing would be to delete it completely. Said and done, ran the virus washer which didn’t react in any way, all clear. Ran the virus check again, and there the bugger was again!
Searched for the file in Windows Explorer, tried to remove it, wasn’t able to; “file may be in use”
Read about disabling system restore, did that, searched again for the infected file, now it was nowhere to be found. In writing moment I’m running the virus scan a third time, and so far it hasn’t detected any viruses - but what if it’s still there? Read about safe mode procedure, but I’m skeptic to that, have had some bad experiences with it in the past… :-
Sorry about the long post, but is there anybody out there who could tell me what this is all about? Btw, I’m running ME.
Hey man you have a gigantic avatar even larger than my jumping monkey, I had to resize that said Bob then to 200 x 200 max. This frog is all over my screen. I will dream about it to-night ;D I will not get Froschbitten?
Polonus - …hey, got your attention didn’t I…? ;D
But yeah, you’re probably right…I’ll change Froggy to something else that isn’t that much of an EYE-full!
try rebooting ur computer in safe mode and then delete it
you can reboot ur computer in safe mode by:
restart it
keep hold of f8 and wait
it should some up with a black screen
choose reboot in safe mode
and wait for it to come on

scan with avast
and press start - restart
and dont press anything ( ur computer should be back to normal now)
