High CPU usage + consrv.dll infection

I visited in some website with FF maybe a month ago and I got weird fake anti-virus software installed on my computer. I managed to get rid of it and computer was running after that fine but today I noticed that I have very high CPU usage and weird processing ongoing. Logs attached. I hope someone talented enough could help me with this one.

btw. I used MBAB first and it found problems which I fixed.

Hi I see you have combofix already so we will commence with that to kill the protection service

  1. Close any open browsers.
  2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
  3. Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:
File:: C:\Windows\SysNative\Sk99202k.dll C:\Windows\SysNative\dds_trash_log.cmd

NetSvc::
mraid35x

Driver::
mraid35x

Save this as CFScript.txt, in the same location as ComboFix.exe

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exeWhen finished, it shall produce a log for you at C:\ComboFix.txt which I will require in your next reply.

Thanks a lot! I added combofix log.

Could you now re-run combofix with the same script please and then run a fresh OTL quick scan with the following script

[*]Run OTL.
[*]Select All Users
[*]Under the Custom Scan box paste this in
netsvcs
%SYSTEMDRIVE%*.exe
/md5start
consrv.dll
explorer.exe
winlogon.exe
Userinit.exe
svchost.exe
/md5stop

Computer is running better now. CPU usage seems to be normal. I have attached the latest OTL and Combofix logs. Everything ok?

Looks good now - just the winsock to repair

Run the MSFixit on this page (about hallfway down) http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811259

Once done could you let me know what problems remain

On the Microsoft page it says fix is for XP, Windows Server 2003 and Vista. I have WIN7 - do you still think that I should fix it?

No problems with computer at all. Runs fine and everything seems to be ok.

Yes it will as I tried it on my 7 system

If all is well tomorrow let me know and I will remove my tools and tidy up

Computer is running fine, no problems at all. Thanks :slight_smile:

Subject to no further problems :slight_smile:

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems
