I am experiencing high CPU utilization by Avast Software Analyzer for one network application. The CPU usage is up to 6% continuously while the application runs.
The application receives network data from a radio and is streamed in real time. The software is Icom RS-BA1.
This software connects to a TCP server in a radio and then displays a real time spectrum of signals.
I have attempted to make exclusions for this software but avast ignores it. Perhaps it is using a different process that is not excluded.
I have the latest Avast, and have done all the trouble shooting such as resetting uninstalling etc.
How do I exclude this process short of turning off all behavior shields? (which does work).
Thanks
A little more info. Turning off all core shields from the Avast user interface does not stop this from happening. Turning off shields for 10 minutes reports that all 7 shields are off and then the problem is gone.
All 7 shields? Only 4 are present in the user interface. Where is the one I am missing?
- Which Avast…? (Free/Premium)
- Which version/build of Avast…?
- OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
- Other security related software installed…?
- Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?
The latest free Avast (updated yesterday).
Win 10 x64
Defender is the only other software ever used. I have always used Avast since the days of Windows XP.
I opened the troubleshooting section in Avast and turned off almost everything and it still does it.
It is only if I stop all shields from the taskbar will it stop. Disabling them individually does nothing.
