High Resource Usage by Avast Even When Disabled

Hello,

I’ve disabled all Avast components for 2 months now to fix a performance issue, but the application continues to consume a significant amount of memory and system resources.

At this point, it feels as I’m no longer able to use the application effectively, and I’m considering uninstalling it as a next step.

Could you please advise on why this is happening and how it can be resolved?

The following components are disabled :

All Core Shields
Firewall
Network Inspection
Ransom Shield
Remote Access Shield
Real Site
Browser Shield
Hack Alerts
Sensitive Data Shield
Webcam Shield

Hello MuhammadFayed,

since all the shields/components are disabled, this may very well be a UI issue. Make sure you’re running the latest version of the AV. If you are, you can try repairing the app (Settings → General → Troubleshooting) or reinstalling it. If you are running Windows 11, you can also send a performance recording https://support.avast.com/en-us/article/157/#pc
