Hijacked tablet

I just clicked a news item and up popped a message that I have been viewing pornography (no way) and my internet has been blocked to protect my computer and to call the number onscreen. I can’t get online with it so disconnected wifi and turned it off. It is a hudl 2 on android and has avast mobile security.

Everything is backed up on cloud so it will not be any great loss but can they access my other devices and passwords etc?

Here is a shot of the message. There is a tiny ok bottom right to close it but I haven’t clicked it.

p.s.
This forum is for help on Windows, not Android.

Sorry, tried to get the right board it’s a minefield for great grannies ::slight_smile:

Discovered it is a tech support scam not ransomware and all sorted now but thanks for the reply. I was worried they would want money if I called the number, or install nasties if I clicked anything!

I would run a full scan on that system for malware.
It doesn’t hurt

It is a fake alert, try clear browser cache

as previous stated from avast team > all malware problems are to be posted here

Thank you Pondus, much appreciated.
