HIPS (Host based Intrusion Prevention System)

Six HIPS programs reviewed and rated here: http://www.techsupportalert.com/security_HIPS.htm

Traditional antivirus solutions cannot protect you until after they’ve discovered a new threat and produced a signature to counter it.
HIPS tools are different because they don’t rely on signatures, but instead constantly analyze your computer’s behavior to detect and block any malicious activity.

One should not forget sandbox type of hips. They are the easiest to use.
I am not sure, but defensewall was the only one tested.

I like Sandboxie very much. Does not matter to me that it has not a fancy interface. It just works well. Plus it is free.
Will see how much that nag screen will bother me after those 30 days are gone.

EDIT:
After reading this thread, Defensewall was the only sandbox missed in the last test by gizmo.

Anyways, Sandboxie did well in that test.
