You don’t have to be an expert, the avast4.ini is just a text file which can be edited like any document, but you must use a text editor like notepad (not a word processor) to edit it.
Before you edit it always make a copy of it save it in a different location so if you make an error you have it as a back-up copy should you need it. If when you are editing the avast4.ini file you make a mistake, exit notepad and don’t save the changes, it will be as it was before you started, just exercise reasonable care.
However, I understand your reluctance to add these values as you have to decide the colour you want and then work out the value for that colour before you can even contemplate editing the avast4.ini file.
