OK, this started out with the version I had (not sure of the number) suddenly stopped getting updates. I came here and found out others had the same problem. I uninstalled it and went back to version 7 (did that for something else once - I should have never updated the program) but, it updated itself to the latest version. On the upside, problem solved, updates are working.
New problem …
For some unknown reason Avast will not let me load MS Word (old version - Word 97). The program is shut down by Avast and the folder I clicked the .DOC file whites out and freezes and will not shut down. I have to reboot.
MS Word works fine if I shut off the Avast Shields. I cannot find a setting in Avast to correct this … any ideas?
