I did install avast home edition 4.7 on my new pc in february 2008, so far I did not get the new version, my brother has the new version on his pc, how come? do I have to do something to get it?
What new version does your brother have, but more importantly what version do you have ?
The current regular release of avast 4 Home is 4.7.1098. There is currently a beta trial under way and that is 4.8.1157 currently.
Shouldn’t that be 4.7.1098?

Right. You mean the latest official version. I’ve got an impression that your brother may have the latest beta version, which is 4.8.1157. Seeing you didn’t manage to find where the beta version is by yourself, it is probably wise of you not to touch the beta version (under testing). I mean, why not just wait for a while and let the others test the beta version for you? ;D

No, it’s beta version. I intentionally avoided using the word “trial” since trial version means something different.
In any case, Alwil wouldn’t like someone to take the beta version for the final version, about which I wanted to be clear.
