Home Network Security scan always hangs never finishes

When I try to run the home network security scan with Avast, it always ends up hanging and never finishes.

For example, right now it’s at 99% and it’s been there for a good half hour.

Anyone else experience this issue or know why this would happen?

  • Which version…?
  • OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
  • Other security related software installed…?

This could be similar to this reported problem https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=178644.0 - if you are using the latest release of avast 11.1.2241. Although the scan completes (supposedly but one area shows it is still scanning).

If you aren’t using this build I would certainly do a program update.
