Home Network Security Scan: Unable to finish. Try again later

Hey there, I’m getting this message whenever I run a network scan. I t just started doin’ that about a week ago. I have the latest engine and definitions updates for the free version and have reset my router. I am running Windows XPsp3, FireFox 41.0.2 and have a Belkin wifi router with a Cisco gateway. I have not had this problem before and a search of this forum turned up nothing. Anyone have any ideas ? Thank you all.

The one major piece of information you left out is what avast build number are you running ?
The latest regular release of Avast 2015 is 10.4.2233 being the latest version.

What happens if you run the Smart Scan ?

Yes, I have 10.4.2233. When I run a Smart Scan I get the same thing, Unable to finish. Try again later. And I have tried again several times over the last week. The virus scans all run fine and are finding nothing evil. Thank you for your reply, DavidR !

For me also running XP SP3 the network scan (avast 10.4.2233) was able to complete the network scan very quickly and report all was good.

The difference when running the Smart Scan it reported an issue with the network security, but the network scan also completed. Running the network scan in isolation without having done anything, resulted in all clear.

The network scan has received some enhancements in the current avast 2016 beta and RC builds. Although the network scan takes a little longer it does complete without issue for me.

So hopefully that will be resolved for you when the avast 2016 version is released.

Hey, I just updated the program this a.m. to 11.1.2241 (still free) and the network scans are now working just fine. Thanks again for your help DavidR !

I had weird problem with Home Network Security Scan in previous Avast versions.
Minute or two after the scan I was loosing internet connection for around 30 - 60 seconds.
It looks like this is fixed with the latest Avast version.
