Home Network Security

Hey Guys,

Just did a Home Network search and ended up with 2 IP addresses that are connected to my network, none of them are any I know. I had the IP addresses to be searched for and to find out who they are, and this surprised me.

25.0.0.1 - This is the UK’s MoD (ministry of Defence), what a crappy job they did of trying to cover themselves up, now I have reasonable assumption that they ARE spying on me.

2620:009b:0000:0000:0000:0000:1900:0001 - This one I can not understand, this is the exact format of the so called “IP” address on the Home Network, its more of a MAC address than anything, but its too long for a MAC address and its on a Network location.

Has anyone had this second “IP Address” and how to get rid of it, I think its a back door for hackers.

The second one is the IPv6 address.
Very likely for your network card.

How/where did you lookup the first IP ?

When you use Avast’s “Scan for Network Threats” both of these addresses appeared, as soon as I saw them I did an IP look up and it said it was MoD. :-\
