I’m using home at the moment but am considering going professional.
I started with the home and went with the Pro version. There are things in it you can setup on a schedule and “tweak” that you just can’t on the home version. If all you had was the home version, it wold be better than a lot of other stuff, but I personally liked the features of the pro version. Price was more than 1/2 of a year that Norton used to cost me. Same with AVG as well.
Ahh so I guess you recommend it then?
The reason why I’m somewhat apprehensive about going pro is I guess it takes up more memory? I don’t think sacrificing a fast running, efficient machine just to run an antivirus program (something which isn’t my fault in the first place) is necessary.
Last time I paid for an antivirus was Norton and Mcafee, both had some excessive effect on the start-up of windows and the internet for some reason took much longer then usual to load.
Maybe I’m just being paranoid for no reason at all, it’s not as if I’m in a hurry just I don’t want my PC to run abnormally slow. Price isn’t really an issue
What’s it like on the resources on your pc?
Oh and I’d recommend using Comodo Firewall in conjunction, works a treat!
Looking at Windows Task Manager it’s pretty minimal. It has a VERY low fingerprint. main file I see as a running proces is ashServ.exe and it only has 20,844k in size. CPU useage is variable between 0% and 5%. Explorer.exe on the other hand is 43,176K in size. Norton was bloaty WAY bloaty. AVG was 100% better at NO BLOAT, and Avast! is more like 500% better. I’ve noticed no speed drop internally or on the interernet.
I don’t think the Pro adds a whole lot more in memory, it just unlocks features that are there that are not available in the Home version. My take, PRO has absolutely NO difference in Home for being resource hungry.
