About a week ago I logged onto my hotmail and noticed that two emails had been sent from my account titles “(no subject).” It seems they were divided into two to divide how many contacts received them; I only noticed they were sent because i received a message about a message not sending from the postmaster. A friend of mine told me it was a bug going around, but I have never opened an email marked “(no subject).” Also the fact that it sent two bothers me and makes me think this was not a bug.
I am very worried that I have something along the lines of a keylogger and neither Avast! nor Malwarebytes has picked up on anything. Any help is appreciated.
welcome to the forum. i have also received those kind of email some time ago. i just reported them as spam and blocked the email it was sent from. haven’t had any more problem with it sens. so i suggest you can try that and see if it help for you to.
The issue is that they were sent from my email address. I have not received any emails like that, but two were sent from my hotmail, which is what concerns me. Thanks for the advice regardless.
ok i see. your welcome, have any other access to your mail? or is it just you? if yes meaby you should chance password. thats the only think i can think of.
a second think might be to write to microsoft about it meaby they could give you some tips what it could be. this is what i could give as tips.
I am the only one with access and changed my password the moment I found the problem.
When you say “write to microsoft” I am not exactly sure how. Is there a specific email or section of their website for this sort of issue? I’ve never actually sent them anything of this nature.
Thanks again for the continued help.

The information is, as always, appreciated. But the emails that were sent from me actually appeared in my “sent” box. They were sent to all my contacts and were directly from my email, not an imitation of my email.

If you are using webmail, then i guess the only thing you can do is to change your password and contact microsoft/hotmail

If you use a mail client to download the mail, the it may be malware in yor comp. If so, then Essexboy will find it
Hi the logs look OK, and this is a fairly common problem with hotmail and other web based providers. Your password was hacked and mail sent from the hotmail account. You have done the right thing and changed the password.
If you wish I can look deeper but there are no signs of malware on the current set of logs
If it looks free of malware, then I am fine.
About two years ago a virus invaded my computer and used it to mass-spam to the point where my internet provider was threatening to terminate our service permanently. So when I saw this happening I wanted to be certain nothing like that would happen again.
Thanks you for taking the time out of your day to help clear this up for me. That goes to everyone who has given their advice.
