I have heard that the avast internet security blocks hotmail spams.
but how does it work?, does it work automatically or should i turn it on somehow??
please can you give me more information about the mail spam block…
Others here can give you a better answer but this is what I understand.
Hotmail has its own spam blocker which you can set in Hotmail. Hotmail will then take care of it and so there is no need to do anything in Avast to block the spam.
However if you are using a ISP provided email account along with avast! you can block spam a number of ways.
- Using your browser
- Using a third party Anti-spam software, which you can find for free on CNET.
- Using avast! AIS which has a Spam blocking option. You can get to the Spam blocking option in AIS as follows
Left click on the Orange Ball----------Left click on Additional Protection—Left click on AntiSpam—Left click on Expert Settings—Left click on Blacklist—Enter the email address of the site you want to block and then click on Add.
AIS will also use certain heuristics to determine if an email should be identified as Spam and it will come to your email box marked as Spam. If you are using Outlook you can have AIS send the email identified as Spam to a junk folder. You can find the settings for this and change them if you like in the Expert Settings of Antispam under Additional Protection.
OH! now i understand how to use it!
that’s all i needed thank you so much man !!!
