How and Where to Disable Port Scans from Avast Free AV? [SOLVED]

Noticed that during the initial installation and also on a frequent base that the Avast AV does a port scanning of the local network which in my case blocks the IP for a certain period. How and where within the Avast AV client do you disable this function/feature?

What exact version of avast ?

Program version: 17.4.2294 (b34.82.0)

There is no b34.82.0
avast free, Pro, IS ?

As subject states, Free version, and the full version and build number is: 17.4.2294 (build 17.4.3482.0)

The smart scan is scanning ports.
All other parts of avast is not scanning ports, but traffic (a.f.i.k.)

When reviewing the Smart Scan settings there are no settings for disabling or limiting the port scanning and closet feature would be disabling “Scan for Network Threats”. Guess that I’m overseeing something so how is this done? Reading a bit more it sounds like that it’s part of the Home Network Security scanning that is the issue, this module can’t disabled or there are now real settings.

Copied from Avast 2015 New Feature posting:
“HNS is all about scanning your router for vulnerabilities and identifying potential security problems that open the door to threats. Routers are the weakest security point in many home and small business networks these days, so this is a very valid and needed feature.”

AvastUI > Settings > General - scroll down to > Smart Scan and expand the section, disable any elements you don’t want in the Smart Scan.

Thanks for the pointer, I’ve disabled the Scan for Network Threats and ran a smart scan which this time didn’t seem to run a port scan and not having the client being blacklisted by the FW.

You’re welcome.
