I’ve been getting phishing emails, many of which have attachments. Sometimes as soon as I get a notification of an incoming email from Thunderbird, Avast pops up saying it moved the attached file to quarantine. This is very concerning because it implies that somehow the file was downloaded onto my system. If the attached file is not actually being moved to quarantine and Avast is actually just preventing me from mistakenly downloading it, then that is what Avast should say it is doing. Avast has used inaccurate language in the past, so that’s what I’m chalking it up to.
If it’s supposed to be quarantining the email itself, then idk what that means bc they are in my Thunderbird inbox.
