HOW CAN A GET A REFUND FOR A TERRIBLE PRODUCT? AVAST ANTI-VIRUS.

I bought this Avast anti-virus a month ago and since then I had to use only my computer at work.
This product was so terrible that I had to re-install ALL MY PROGRAMS including the operating system.
Lost most of my files. TERRIBLE.
NOW I JUST WANT A REFUND BUT AM ALSO UNABLE.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW I CAN CLAIM IT?

Thanks,

Did you check the main avast homepage? They should have a customer support area where you can email them…

If your calling Alwil you’ll be calling Prague, Czech Republic

Here’s their time .

May i ask what exactly was the cause for you to lose all the data? And what exactly makes you think it was avast!'s fault?
I mean, did it make a false positive on a system file, did it detect virus in almost all your files (if yes, what was the name of the virus?) or did it cause an infinite blue screens of death? Maybe something else? I’d just like to hear what was the reason for your extremely bad experience with avast!. Thanks.

As for the refund, it’s best to submit a ticket here:
http://support.avast.com/

Or contacting them directly by mail at sales@avast.com

I think this guy just hates Avast, read his other posts.

Did you come here and ask for help before taking the steps you did in your above post?

I think this guy just hates Avast, read his other posts.

As you can see help is too late here

he already format his computer

look at his post.

this is the effect of final installation without knowing what is the product first.

even he installed other security software it will also happen like this.

because if his/her computer is infected with a rootkit, it will hide the real file and replace it with an exe folder. this can be cured by folder option show hidden file. but if the computer is hijacked he cannot use the folder option.

or

after installing he suffer from loop reboot cause also of rootkit that hide the system at start-up is not present because it is hidden, cannot find the file, etc.

and his decision is final to get refund.

Regards!!!

the guy would have posted the same sort of stuff on any other forum after acquiring any other software. Not worth bothering…

There should be no problem with a refund, just send an email to sales@avast.com, or call in CET working hours.

I want my money back… I had the trial and the notices flashed that I needed … INTERNET SECURITY… I got the 2 yr … plan… installed it … and my … INTERNET SECURITY … turned off the AVAST INTERNET SECURITY… on installation…

I HAD INTERNET SECURITY… and was told to buy another one by your program … AVAST… please refund my money… It will not run on my computer… my . INTERNET SECURITY will not let it.

I CALLED THE SUPPORT LINE… i WAS GIVEN A WEB SITE FOR REFUND… THAT DID NOT WORK

tinyurl/avastrefund.com

I sent the email above… I am STEAMED… I can hardly write. and I have two programs not functioning and loading data … from a data interefence… send recieve… … since using the trial 30 free ware AVAST… INDEED avast.

RAGE ;D ;D

Pardon my amusement at your anger, you simply remind me of myself.
The instructions and email address above should lead you to a refund.
In the future, I would ALWAYS do the trial before you buy.

But people here could try and help get it working for you also, if you find some hidden reserve of patience.

How come it runs so beautifully on almost all of our computers (I have 5) and then we have the others… ???

LOL ;D

and my .. INTERNET SECURITY .. turned off the AVAST INTERNET SECURITY.
does this mean you have more that one AV running on your computer ?

As I understand it he had already a complete Internet Security Suite plus Avast Free running :o And than he tried to install Avast Internet Security too ;D

Greetz, Red.

I think the guy’s got a rogue on board (what he calls Internet Security) that doesn’t allow Avast to run ;D

yepp, that is what is suspect, or not removed earlier installed AV

Refunds seem do not exsist from Avast…Purchased Advast Premier Total support. Product not compatible with my
Win XP…Requested money back… What a runaround…Was finally refused…

Very poor support for their product…Do not recommend the product at all.

If you really want help stick to your original topic, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=122008.0, rather than posting in every topic.

Sorry, but you’re talking only rubbish. What is it? Terrible or you lost all your files? You lost them how? They don’t just magically disappear or get deleted by avast! for no reason. And especially not on a large scale like you’re saying…
