As mentionned in the subject I would like to know if I can disable the outlook/exchange resident protection as I’m not using Outlook. Of course I can terminate it manually each time that I boot but I was wondering if there was an automatic way to do this. In fact what I’m looking for is to just load in memory the programs that I need
In the Professional version, you can edit the resident task (in Enhanced User Interface) and select the providers you want to be started.
In the Home version… you would have to rename/delete the corresponding provider DLL, I’m afraid (but it would come back on every program update).
it basically is the same line - because the line defines which providers should be resident. So if you define ‘STANDARD’ and ‘MAIL’ as resident it won’t start p2p and IM (that works for me).
i see them all. The activated ones as coloured images, the other ones as greyscaled. The tooltip of the icon says “avast! On-Access Scanner: 5 provider(s) total, 2 running”.
