Avast frequently prevents me from running programs that it deems suspicious until it scans them and sends them off for analysis. Usually in such cases I trust the program because I wrote it myself! Clicking Abort on the scan doesn’t stop it, and at the end I click “I trust this program”, but it still won’t let me run the program until it’s decided it’s ok after all. The popup says I can specify how Avast treats suspicious files in Settings, but I couldn’t find anything there. Is there a way to set Avast to (1) allow the user to abort a scan and (2) let the user decide whether to run the program without waiting for Avast to declare it safe?
I believe the second part used to be possible via the second radio-button under Settings / Protection / Core Shields / Enable CyberCapture Technology.
Yes, I think that should do what I want - thanks!
