how can I remove "win32:Malware-gen" from a portable executable application?

I am new here please anyone tell me how to remove win32:Malware-gen from my portable application…its a dictionary application and rare
Note that my avast is not detecting when scanning the filr…But it detects when I open the file in sandbox. Thank you

Two possibilities:

1 There is a malware included in the legit files.
You can just hit the scan button, delete the unwanted ones and leave the legit ones running.

2 The application itself is infected, say, with a code-injecting virus
This is very much likely to be unrecoverable. Perhaps, you should find a new download link.

What was the program called anyway? Try scanning it with Malwarebytes Antimalware too.

upload suspicious file(s) to www.virustotal.com and test with 40+ malware scanners
when you have the result, copy the url in the address bar and post it here for us to see
