How can I see what files/websites were blocked?
When I called Avast support they could not give me an answer… only said it could be a ‘hijack or other virus not detected…’ . I am using licensed avast! Internet Security, program version 2014.9.0.2021, virus definitions version 140901-0. I did full system scan, boot scan, and (as suggested by avast! support) ran Malwarebytes Premium’s full system scan in normal and safe modes. All scans were clean.
avast! Component status is saying that ‘1 viruses blocked in the last 30 days’ … I would really like to know what virus was blocked or at the least how to clear that message!
Look at the log files.
I cannot find any log file(s) connected to blocked viruses/files/websites… only thing I can find are related to quarantine, 3 that are 1 year old and scan history. Can you give me a clue on what ‘logs’ I should be looking for?
try c:\programfiles\avast.…
And the documents & settings folder.
Easiest is perhaps start > search > *.log (have it search your entire main drive)
The search may not work if the folder is hidden, which it may well be in win7 or later.
Thanks. I did a search of my system drive and found 21 *.log files (related to avast!)

I’ve searched the contents of the files for ‘blocked’ and found only three entries in the nshield.log (dated 2012 & 2013).
Any other places to look? or just wait and see if Component status for blocked viruses changes…
Be helpful if one of the avast! programmers could chime in…
