Hello All
I have been using Avast 4.8 for almost 2 years and have been very pleased with it.
Recently I turned on verbose mode using simple check boxes in the configuration menus.
After it was turned on the check boxes to turn it off have disappeared???
It is quite a drain on the resources and that is one of my favorite features on Avast.
Can anyone tell me how to turn off the verbose mode?
I don’t know exactly what you mean by verbose mode, but I’ll take a stab at it.
I think that you mean, ‘Show detailed info on performed actions’ this option is off by default. This function is in the Standard Shield, Web Shield and Internet Mail providers so you should check all of those.
See image example of the Standard Shield > Customize > Advanced - ‘Show detailed info on performed actions’
Thank you for the quick reply DavidR with some continued tinkering I found my way back to the settings and turned them Off. ;D
Exactly where you specified! I kept thinking that the check boxes were on the front page of the configuration menus. When in
fact some digging was necessary. It was just about impossible to get anything done with the detail boxes constantly popping up
and covering up what I was trying to look at. I didn’t do any testing but I’m pretty sure that it used a big slice of some type or
types of resources and made the browser run much slower. I highly unrecomend the setting to all unless some testing is needed.
Thanks again DavidR
Gary
Though this shouldn’t have had any impact on your browsing (especially if this option wasn’t tweaked by you in the web shield), it may just appear that way as you are concentrating on the drawing of the list.
