New iAVS update (VPS xxxxxx-x) for avast! program has been released recently.
Related information could be also found on our web site.
Note: This is a standard update
I don’t subscribe either – like most of us, I use the default settings of automatic for defs and notify-only for program updates.
Does your mailer program have a provision for handling junk mail? That might be a useful temporary work-around, until Alwil finishes their website work, and would probably be easier to undo when appropriate than blocking it at the ISP (or webmail) server level. I use Thunderbird, which has the ability (optional) to learn what you consider junk, and which also has a provision for cleaning out all junk-mail rules and re-learning from scratch.
My aVast installation is set to automatic update to engine and virus definitions, and that is working fine.
I’m using GMail to subscribe to email notifications. Their spam filter isn’t catching them, or they’d be in the spam folder. Avast has simply stopped sending out the email notifications to me.
I don’t consider messages and notifications I subscribe to as spam, and wouldn’t train them as such. ;D
