I was testing the beta version in one of my Android 4 virtual devices.
I’ve noticed I had two icons in the screen, but nothing more.
I mean, how can I upgrade the program automatically?
The internal update seems to be only for the virus definitions :
The UI update is for signatures only.
I found that when trying to move from the beta to regular release; you have to get the program updates from the marketplace.
Yes, the update service od android market will take care about that.
As written above, the update line in the GUI refers to virus definitions.
Product updates are done through invoking the Update on the Market screen.
To get automatic upgrade to Avast, you can also check the box on the market screen to update Automatically. I did it before the latest release and indeed Avast upgraded itself.
Do not forget I’m with AVD. There is no Market on the virtuals. As a translator I received the .apk, but it requires uninstall/install.
Tech, I’m sorry
I didn’t forget. I didn’t read carefully the first sentence of your first post “I was testing the beta version in one of my Android 4 virtual devices.”
If you are working on AVD you can install android market there.
I’ll PM you.
adb install -r .apk
Enjoy!
Filip
And the .apk file is? Where is it?
That’s the one that has been sent to you (by email maybe). I don’t know how you guys receive translation .apks
Filip
Filip, we’re not talking about avast MobileSecurity but Android Market
Filip, and so?
Please find a reply in your message box. I hope you are really using AVD
Tech, if you installed .apk that has been sent to you (by email for example), I really think you won’t be able to perform an application update from the Market (although I can be wrong of course).
Filip
Yes… Milos failed in my case, I’ve got nothing (yet).
I’ve sent you another email.
Thanks Filip, but right now I’m starting new virtual devices to test.
