how can you or is there a way to ignore updates

What happens if you click the “ignore program” on the system updates? I have a newer version of Java than the one that is asking for the update, the new version is already updated. If I update the older version will it just tell me I have a newer one, and will the old update message dissapear from my list?

I was wondering what this topic was about as it seemed unrelated to the avast! Mobile Security and this appears to be about the avast software updater in the avast desktop antivirus.

If so hopfully one of the moderators can move this to the avast! Free/Pro/Suite forum, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=2.0.

The bigger question is do you actually need JAVA as it is a huge target for malware. If you don’t have an application that requires JAVA (not JavaScript) or a site that you most visit uses JAVA, then your best option is to uninstall JAVA.

Dont ignore, but skip and take away the old Java version 7 from your computer and the update-message will dissapear.
