Trying to find a workaround for a web page, ohioboysvolleyball.com, that my router evidently doesn’t like. IE8 won’t open the page but others can access it. Neither of my two desktops or two laptops can access the page so I suspect it’s my Linksys router that suddenly doesn’t like the page. Can safe zone be a workaround and how do I access it. I have 6.0.
OS…??
The fact that you have avast 6.0 doesn’t mean you have the safe zone, that is only in the paid versions of avast internet security and avast pro. If you have avast free you don’t have access to it.
That said if it really is your “Linksys router that suddenly doesn’t like the page” I rather doubt that would change even with the safe zone as you would still be going through your router to connect to the internet.
Does your Linksys router have outbound firewall as many only have inbound firewall protection, e.g. can you actually create rules for outbound connections on it ?
As I can’t see how this would change suddenly as you say.
You say IE8 can’t open the page, what error do you get ?
I have Vista and a paid version of Avast.
Internet Explorer cannot open the page is the message I get.
As you’re on Vista update to IE9.
Or try another browser…
Updated to Mozilla Firefox on a laptop. Still no success. Router issue.
I wonder, why your router would block this though…??
