How do I add Outpost installation folder to Avast

Hi,

I just upgraded to Outpost security suite 7.1 and during installation it said:

“After product installation, please add its installation folder to avast! Antivirus File System Shield Exclusions.”

I can not figure out how to do this
If anyone can help with detailed instructions I would be forever grateful
Thanks so much and have a great day

I haven’t bothered with excluding the Outpost folder in avast.

I exclude only one file and that is in the avastUI, Real-time Shields, Expert Settings, Exclusions, Add. Copy and paste the path below to achieve that.

That file is C:\Program Files\Agnitum\Outpost Firewall Pro\wl_hook.dll.

You don’t say if this is the free or paid version of the outpost security suite ?

However, points to note Outpost Suite (free or paid) should have asked if you had avast installed, answering Yes should mean it doesn’t install the resident Anti-virus or Anti-Spyware or Web Control modules. It is important that you said yes or these could be installed and conflict with avast’s real-time shields.

Which kind of makes it pointless to have got the Outpost Suite, you could have gone for the Outpost Firewall Pro, or better purchased the Avast Internet Security suite ;D

Thanks David
It is the Free version and yes it did ask me if I installed Avast and I did answer yes
I am new to this so please forgive me for not knowing what to include in my ?'s. Just let me know if I did not follow proper protocol and I will do better next time
Thanks so much for your help ;D

No problem, glad I could help.

Your question was fine, enough for me to answer even without the extra detail on the version you are using.

Having answered the outpost question Yes about installing avast, outpost won’t install any modules that may conflict with avasts resident shields. So you should be good to go.
