How do I check which version I have?

The little green pop-up box saying that a download of a new version of Avast! 4.6 Home Edition (4.6.739) was available disappeared before I could click it! I then went to the Avast! site, but could find no way to just add the .739 update to my 4.6.731 without redownloading the whole program! Is this right?

MY MAIN QUESTION IS THIS, HOWEVER: How do I determine what version of Avast! I currently have should I ever forget? I can find no way from within the program to find out what version it is (it seems to have no “about” screen, etc.)!

Thanks!

Hi

Just click with the right button of your mouse on the blue “a” ball in your system tray and from the appeared menu click “About avast!..”

You can do a manual program update from the same menu

No, it won’t download the whole program.
Updates are incremental. You’re download only you need to upgrade from 731 to 739

Right click the ‘a’ blue icon and the About option is there…
The program and virus database versions are there.

To check what version you’re currently running, ‘right-click’ on the blue ball on your system tray. Then click on ‘about avast’. You’ll see a window pop-up with the version (vers 4.6) and build number ( 4.6.739 ).

If you’re still on 4.6.731 and want to update, ‘right-click’ on the blue ball, then click ‘updating’, then ‘Program Update’. That should start the update process.

Hope this helps.

THANKS EVERYBODY!!! AT LEAST I GOT TO CANCEL MY COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY ALL-NEW DOWNLOAD OF THE FULL PROGRAM AT ABOUT THE 86% POINT! ;D

Never a waste of time to have a copy of the latest version saved to your HDD, if you ever experience a problem that may require an uninstall, boot and install you have a copy saved.

Now all we have to do is show you where the CAPS LOCK key is ;D ;D
