How do I close Avast?

Hello, I’ve seen many other topics ask this same question.

How can I close my Avast?

Right click the Avast tray icon then scroll over shields to choose disabling choices.

My Avast is frozen for some reason and isn’t letting me close it, I can’t close it in task manager either, is resetting my computer the only way?

Try doing an Avast Repair:

  1. Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove
  2. Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair). Reboot.

Let us know if this resolves your problem. If not, then an Avast uninstall, using the Avast Uninstaller Tool and new install will be required. Thank you.
