How do I delete two Hidden Files In Avast Sandbox

I have two Hidden Files in the Avast Sandbox:
ChromeRecovery.exe
GoogleUpdateSetup.exe

Avast indicates that they are RootKits - Hidden Files. However, Avast is not able to delete them, even upon reboot. When Avast tried to delete them, the History Log said - Access Is Denied (5).

I have tried running Google Chrome in the Sandbox and then emptying the Sandbox. However, this does not remove the Hidden Files.

Using Avast 2014 Version 2008.

How do I go about deleting these files that Avast cannot delete, even on reboot?

Thank you.

Figured this out. Had to empty the Safe Zone and not the SandBox.

Thank you

Hello! I have the exact same problem. Can you please tell me exactly how you got rid of this? When I do a boot scan or quick scan, it doesn’t find anything. On full scan it finds 6 and they are all as you described and I can’t get rid of them. Thanks!

Select settings > tools > sandbox > customise > safezone
Then click reset

@Pondus

Thanks, but this did not work. I have tried everything I can think of but they are still there. Any more ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Also, it is safe to use SafeZone for delicate information with this in there?

Thanks!

did you restart computer after?

Yes…
