I have just re-installed Avast free on my PC running XP.I keep getting a message asking me to disable SSL/TLS. I have no idea how to do this. I am using Outlook Express 6.
you dont HAVE to do it, only if you want avast! to scan your mail. You can also disable the popup warning if you dont want to
but this is how if you want to
avast! 5.x: Some e-mails are not scanned by the Mail Shield

Does your email actually use SSL ?
To check - In OE6, Tools, Accounts, Select the email account relative to this message, select Properties. From that window, select the Advanced tab and if you have it set to use SSL, uncheck that option, see image.
