I believe that I have been hacked and received a false “subscription renewal” notice for Avast Cleanup Premium. $69.99 has been taken out of my account. There are no subscriptions listed in my Avast account though.
I’ve been searching for a way to contact Avast about this, but only can find basic templates for requesting a refund. Pretty strange. I would have thought this company would provide an option to send a detailed email somehow?? As for the support centre being closed due to covid19: this is a tech company…can’t they work from home?
[Addendum: I’ve just found a way to send a detailed email to Avast about this apparent scam. I typed “Avast Scam” into the Support Centre search bar; selected “Refunds, cancellations, billing…”; then selected “I need help with a different issue”; then selected Avast Cleanup Premium’; then finally was able to type my message into a text box and received a confirmation that the message had been sent (but support centre has closed down…). This seems a pretty untidy way to have to communicate with a tech company.]
