How do I empty "Avast:Scanned" folder without losing emails

I have Avast scanning my Gmail in Outlook because my account was hacked and I was receiving a large increase in spam. Avast created an “Avast:Scanned” folder which is now up to 760 emails. If I try to empty the folder, it deletes all of the emails it has scanned from all folders, including if I have moved them out of Inbox to another folder in order to save. Obviously having an additional 760 emails in a folder is slowing things down. How do I empty this folder without losing my email?

Avast mail guard labels scanned e-mails as “Avast:Scanned”, and actually it’s not a folder; just a label on each mails. It’s Outlook that draws labels as folders. You can’t remove the folder while using Mail Guard; even if you remove these labels, Avast will add these labels again for newly coming e-mails, thus “Avast:Scanned” will show up again.

It’s not a label on each email, it’s an actual folder.

I did not have any of these Avast folders until I began to use the email scanner.

Even when I delete emails and empty my trash, more than half of the emails remain in the “Avast:Scanned” folder.

The emails in my inbox that have been scanned do not have a label “Avast:Scanned”, they just appear in both folders - Inbox and “Avast:Scanned”.

When I login to my Gmail through my browser, in my inbox the individual emails are marked “Avast Scanned”, however there is still an “Avast:Scanned” folder with 870 emails, even though I’m not using Avast to scan my Gmail directly.

Your 2nd and 3rd screenshots exactly shows it’s a label on each mail, not a folder. As I stated above, it’s Outlook (1st screenshot) that draws them as folders, unless you make it on your own in your profile.

If you have disabled Avast Mail Guard already (don’t confuse it with Mail Shield; it’s a different one), then no more “Avast:xxx” labels on your new mail.

Yes, I know the 2nd and 3rd screenshots are different, they are GMail not Outlook. The 3rd screenshot shows an “Avast:Scanned” Folder in GMail. If it was just in Outlook, then the folder wouldn’t be in GMail. And, the same email in my Inbox labeled “Avast:Scanned” appear in the “Avast:Scanned” Folder. And, emails that I have completed deleted still appear in the “Avast:Scanned” Folder.

When I sync my Outlook to GMail, it takes forever because it is sync all my email including the “Avast:Scanned” folder, meaning it is syncing emails twice, and syncing deleted emails that are still in the “Avast:Scanned” folder.

Gmail doesn’t have “folder”, it’s all “label” instead.
I’m not an expert of gmail, but maybe your e-mails are still in trash box or just archived?
