How do I find Avast Password Manager

I got a message in my Avast Premium that they are discontinuing the master password in Avast and going to the Avast Password Manager. So, I click on the button to get that and all was well. I got all my passwords changed over and all is well. Then when I closed out, I can’t find where the Password Manager is.

The only way I can find it is to log into something on my browser and it pops up with a password generator and below that has a link.

Also, it keep signing me out so I have to unlock it all the time

Hopefully I explained this right.

Thanks for any help you give me.

Avast Passwords Manager (APM) is a separate product from Avast Antivirus unlike old Avast Passwords, that means you can’t access it via Avast normal GUI.
I believe the only way to manage your passwords on APM is to run your browser having APM extensions and open APM Web application.

Thanks! I got it figured out.

You’re welcome

I’m incredibly pissed they’re discontinuing passwords. Been using it for years very happily. Are they simply going to delete all my passwords?

Same here. Many years of using the passwords from inside of Avast… so I was upset when I got the popup from them a couple weeks ago that that is being discontinued. It’s actually been discontinued for years, but they allowed us old timers with them a way to keep our passwords inside Avast. But, now… that will be gone by the end of February. So, yes… that icons will more than likely be gone Avast.

I figured the other day I better get with it and install the new Password Manager before all my passwords were gone.So I spent a few hours clicking on everything I had bookmarked and saved them one by one into the new way.

You can actually import them, but I had a lot of old stuff sitting in there that I didn’t want and I wanted to change passwords too… so I did it the long way.

Once I figured it all out, it’s fine…but, if you have two of the same accounts but listed under different names you have to save one first… go in and change the user name and save it. Then go into the other account and save the user name and password and save it.

Example. I have 2 Pogo accounts. So I went into Pogo and saved that account with one name and password. Then went back into Pogo and save it with my other name and password. Hope that made sense.

I advice you to bite the bullet and make the change. All your passwords will still be usable until the end of February.

Let me know if you run into anything and maybe I can help.

There is a migration pathway/wizard from Avast Passwords into Avast Password Manager.
I agree it’s sad to see Avast Passwords go, but I’m also thankful to Avast team for providing decent alternative for free.

Hello portia.bolton,

You can migrate your passwords data into new Avast Password Manager.

Yea, i know. I migrated but I much prefer an application. I may just switch to Nord and see if I like that better.

Hi NON,
I havn’t found the APM for MS Edge?
with APM, can we still sychronize between windows & android & IOS?
thanks

You can install APM for Edge from here:
Avast Password Manager - Microsoft Edge Addons

For Android it can be synchronized. I don’t have iOS devices but I suppose it can.

thanks

I guess I am just a confused 83 year old who gets more and more confused as I read the posts. About the time something makes sense, something changes and I take a trip to Lostville land. To be truthful I was not even aware Password Manager was provided by Avast and I have be a user, Avast user that is, for a few years. I’ve still got a few days to play around with it until end of it. Well, no I do not. I forgot this is FEB and only 28 days. Oh well, I have enjoyed reading thru some of the posts. GRB
