How do I get into settings?

I thought I was supposed to be able to get into Anti Theft settings by dialling and calling my pin number. However, all I get then is an actual call with information “The number you have called doesn’t exist”.

Also, is it possible to still use AntiTheft after uninstallation of Avast Mobile Security?

sure it’s possible.

in cases like yours the problem is usally

  • the wrong avast! Pin was remembered
  • an avast! PIN with more than 6 digits was created. actually only the first 6 digits were accepted in this case. try calling the first 6

I only ever used one avast PIN and it is 6 digits so it looks like the unusual problem.

EDIT:
Strange. It started working today without any change to the system or settings.
