I have run the Avast HE of the AV programme but dunno how to get rid of it?? I am running on XP pro and have disabled System Restore, but it still keeps showing up every time i run Avast!

please tell us exactly where avast finds it (full path and filename; see avast’s report/logfile)
Until you Apply ALL windwosupdates, it will probably reappear via inet
also use the board search please…

go to the administrave tools then to computer management go to services scroll down to remote procedure call rpc click on the recovery tab and set all 3 boxes to take no action then go to www.timesupport.co.uk there you can download the latest virus fix save to your desk top unzip and run the patch

Happen the same to me.
the location is :
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\user.dmp

You don’t have to worry about this particular file (user.dmp).
When the computer is infected using the RPC exploit, the RPC service crashes - and Dr. Watson (Windows “fault manager”) dumps the faulting memory area to a file. So, avast! will find the virus in the file later. However, it is not dangerous or usable in any way - you can safely delete the file.
To protect yourselves agains the infection from network, you have to apply the necessary Microsoft security patches.

i ve the same problem, it avoids the copy & paste process, and prevents opening new internet links.
for the moment i didn’t find any useful solution,
please if someone could provide help we will be very grateful.
