How do i get Windows Live Mail to stop opening up when i click on a link that has Mailto: on it? this started after the new 2011 updates for it. it does this in Internet Explorer 8
Well that isn’t entirely correct, it doesn’t open your email ‘program,’ but a new email composure window (of your default email client) with that email address in the To address.
Good question, but I guess he wants it to stop completely and not select an email client.

This then begs why do you want to click a mailto: link in the first place (if you don’t want any action to take place) and what action do you hopes it will take ?
I’m not talking about the Accelerator I’m Talking about the Program (see picture for picture of the splash on screen of windows live mail)
So How do i remove it as default mail client? I don’t want to see the mail client show up if i click on mailto: link i want to see a pop up that says there is no mail client set as default or isn’t install correctly
Does anybody here know how i can remove the only account i have in windows live writer? i want to remove the account BUT it won’t let me the remove button is grayed out help please
EDIT: It turns out i couldn’t sadly so i removed the program.
