How do I install the Avast notification Icon

Not knowing any better, I unselected “install tray icon” during the install process of Avast. Now I see that by having it provides a functionality other than simply providing another way to open the program.

Is there a way to install it wihtout doing a new install of the program? And if not do I need to uninstall my current install before reinstalling the program?

I have already tried to do a change and a repair from the Programs and Features window in W7 with no luck.

Hi Lioninstreet,

Open Avast. Select “Settings”. The first page is “Basic Settings”. In “Appearance”, put a tick in the box that says, “Show Avast Tray Icon.” That should do it.
