How do I remove Avast! from my mobile.

Hi, Can you tell me how I find and remove Avast! from my Samsung S3 please?
When I drag down the icon from the top of the screen I get a pop up informing me that PIN recovery not set and it says Please set the recovery phone number in the Settings. If I hit OK or Cancel the pop up closes and I’m no further forward.
Why do I want to remove Avast!? I’m traveling and need to change my sim frequently to a local one and it was a right pain in the USofA recently not to be able to adjust my settings because my standard sim was in the UK.

HELP! (please)

Hello,

if you consider keeping Anti-Theft - here’s how to change your SIM card without triggering an alarm:

  1. open anti theft with the “old” sim card installed
  2. deactivate anti theft
  3. change sim card
  4. open anti theft again to add the new sim card to the trusted sim cards list
  5. reactivate anti theft
I get a pop up informing me that PIN recovery not set
this is just the information, that the PIN recovery number isn't set. however, you have a box in this pop up, where you should enter your avast! PIN.

this is my general how-to-uninstall-Anti-Theft text. should help you:

to uninstall our app please proceed as follows:

  • open avast! Mobile Security, open the settings and select the “avast! Anti-Theft removal wizard”. When it’s done you can uninstall avast! Mobile Security like any other app.
  • if you no longer have avast! Mobile Security installed and just want to uninstall Anti-Theft you can either reinstall avast! Mobile Security to use the wizard or proceed in these steps:

open your phone’s app manager and uninstall the app with the custom name you chose on installing avast! Anti Theft. In many cases the name is “Update Agent”.
If you can’t find Anti-Theft like this, please go through all installed apps. Look for apps you don’t know what they are doing. If you come across an app you don’t know, select it in the app manager.

You’ll see some options along with a list of permissions the app requests in the android system. If the list matches this list:
https://support3.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=1252&nav=0
you found Anti-Theft. Just uninstall it.
Of course you can just uninstall all apps you don’t know, as it’s most likely that you don’t need them if you don’t know them. You can’t ruin anything here, as all system related apps are uninstall protected.

If you find the app and the uninstall fails, please remove the app from the device administrators list (you can find it in your phone’s settings).
If the uninstall fails please remove the app from the device administrators list (you can find it in your phone’s settings).

to remove root installations of avast! Anti-Theft you can use the “avast! Anti-Theft removal wizard” or use the free tool “Titanium Backup”.

alternatively we offer a uninstall.zip at
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27553331/root%20uninstall.zip
unzip it and run uninstall.bat with your phone connected via USB to the pc. make sure usb-debugging is enabeled on your phone and the phone driver is installed on the PC.
If you do it on the PC where you rooted your phone you usually have these drivers available.
