How do I run a virus scan in safe mode?

My computer’s messed up with something that makes it act like the left arrow key is stuck (it isn’t).
I managed to get a scan going and it found something but then I couldn’t tell it what to do because none of the buttons would respond.

The effects of this are that the focus is constantly moving, menus are unusable, except context menus, everything has to be typed backwards, and on and on.

I have never used safe mode before.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Now it’s doing it in safe mode. that won’t work, can’t select radio buttons, sorry. yrros. It started doing it in safe mode too. Have you ever tried to type a sentence backwards?

The directions at the link required me to select radio buttons, which I couldn’t do, because of the focus problem. But it turned out that all I had to do was click select boot scan and let it take over. It found a file and deleted it and things seem to be working now. But things seemed to be working in safe mode too and then started the same thing. Thanks.
