How do I turn off on-access scanner message?

:-[ I have been trying to turn off the On-Access Scanner Message that is constantly popping up on my screen. I cannot find the area to turn this off, and was hoping that somebody would let me know how to do this.

I’ve looked at the help, and I’ve went into the custom area of the settings, for each area.

The line that allows the “Show detail…” is unchecked in each area, but the message stuff continues.

I’ve looked several times at this stuff, and I think that it is acting like the show detail is selected, even though it shows to not be selected.

I was hoping that this was a common problem, and that someone else knew the fix.

Oh. I’m using Avast! 4.6 Home Version

snielsen, I suggest you start reading the manual/help and make yourself familiar with Avast and all the things it is offering the user.

At some stage you must have switched it on as I don’t believe it is on by default.

Impossible, No, Simply, Yes.

Click on the avast icon, select Standard Shield, click Customize…, Advanced, untick Show detailed info on performed action, if it is the same in other providers, switch it off in the same way.

It seems that you’ve changed the avast settings without knowing what you were doing…
This is an option disabled by default. You can turn it off going to the Standard Shield provider settings, Advanced tab an unchecking ‘Show detailed information on action performed’. You can do this for the other providers too.

I have the same issue ,arnt we all Einsteins ! I do not have the show detailed crap on yet still get messages, do not post answers to questions ye don`t understand.

  1. there is no need to swear to emphasise a point thanks, this is an open forum with no age limits/restrictions.

The ‘Show detailed information on action performed’ is on more than the Standard Shield provider, the Web Shield and Internet Mail providers also have it so check those.

I’m sure that your comments are going to endure you to those volunteers to help you find a solution to your problem.

If you can provide some information about what text is displayed (I know it is quick, just general info, location file, etc.) or post a screenshot, will help us to help you.

But did you follow the steps I’ve posted before? Do you have anything wrong with avast that we can help?

I have followed the instructions given here, they don’t work. I’ve even tryed turning it on, then rebooting, then turning it off and rebooting again. Nothing works.

Can you post the view of the scanner massage???

The example image is for the standard shield, there are other shields that also have this functionality, the Web Shield and Internet Mail providers so you should also check those.
