yesterday I got a warning, I think it was about a security certificate and how legitimate applications wouldn’t ask for this to be updated. Unfortunately I did not take a screen-shot and I am unable now to recreate the warning
However, I blocked access to an IP address and would very much like to unblock. After many hours googling, searching this forum and looking at the user interface, I cannot see anywhere which tells me Avast has blocked access let alone what steps I can take to unblock it.
I wish I knew! The application I am using is complaining about being unable to connect via the socket. I am sure it was an Avast warning that popped up, but I will check my firewall (basic Windows one) and see if there is a rule there that I have missed.
Thanks
Edit: checked the firewall, it looks like the application is cleared through there.
Solved it by uninstalling and reinstalling aVast. The problem was a Mail Shield Security Exception because the certificate for the errant application had expired. So I also installed updated certificates.
