How do i unregister?

Avast Free said i had to register, so i did, but then it downloaded and installed a bunch of crap i don’t need or want.
How do i unregister and uninstall all the crap?
Do i have to uninstall the Antivirus to get rid of everything else?

Btw, the web shield keeps blocking my download of a perfectly safe file. Why can’t i signal a false positive with a shield? The file is not in the chest.

The crap is an antispam, firewall and secureline. I installed an antivirus. I already have a firewall, i don’t need a spam filter and what’s the secureline for anyways.
It’s crap because i never agreed to install it.

That is why I asked where did you get your installer from because avast! FREE does not come with any of it and much less with a firewall :o

You must have chosen AIS trial by mistake when registering avast! Free.

You want to reinstall the real avast! FREE from here:

Run aswclear.exe to get rid of that crap.

The only thing you must be aware is that avast! will offer Google Chrome so you must opt out that option when it appears.

Follow iroc9555’s advice and then when installing as new, select Custom Install. Deselect whatever features you do not want, either free or AIS trial, and continue.

Thanks for the aswclear, but i had to uninstall Avast completely just to reconnect to the internet. I’ll try to be more careful when i re-install it, but if i end up with the same problems, i’m switching to another antivirus. Why do firewalls try to be antiviruses and antiviruses try to be firewalls?

Ok, i re-installed and i saw where i made the mistake, the first time i must have clicked the big green button for IS trial instead of the little blue line for just the protection i had. It sucks that Avast pushes so hard, but freeware is not always free, sometimes it comes with bundledware, adware and the provider always pushing for is payware.

Now how do i close this thread.

Yes. That is what I thought. That big green " click me " always does it.
