How do I view the Simple User Interface, SUI, in the Pro version

I am using Avast! Pro for trial period. I can view the Enhanced User Interface, EUI, but;
How do I view the Simple User Interface, SUI?

I’ll bet it’s just too easy for me to figure out.
TIA.
– Keith ???

I would have thought from the EUI, menu there would be an option to switch to the SUI as there is from the SUI to select the EUI.

I can’t test this as I use the Home version.

Right-click “a” tray icon > ‘Start avast! Antivirus’.

Wait… or cancel memory test.

See attached shot.

Vladimyr –
That does the trick.
To bad “last scan results” is grayed out. However, I will not close SUI until after my next scheduled scan is finished. Hope I’ll be able to view “last scan results” then.

Thank you.

You should be able to view the last results in the enhanced. Refer to the screenshot in Vladimyr’s post, click on sessions.

If you are using the SUI for anything other than a comparison then I feel that is a pointless exercise as the EUI is far more flexible. Having switched to the SUI as you found Last scanned results aren’t available, nor are scheduled on-demand scans.

Now I don’t know if because you are running the SUI those scheduled tasks that you set-up from the EUI will run or if they do run whether you will be able to access the last scanned results from the SUI.

Yes, the scheduled tasks will run, they are independent on the user interface. But no, their results won’t be visible in SUI; the Enhanced UI (or report file) is needed for that.

Thanks for the feedback Igor.

All –
Only with your help, was I able to figure it out. I can now see results by:

  1. Right click on ‘A’ and select “Start Avast! Antivirus”
  2. Stop Scan
  3. If in SUI, right click anywhere in display and choose EUI.
  4. In EUI, under “Folders” on left side of window, select “Sessions”.
  5. Select session of interest by left clicking on it.

The process is:

  1. not obvious;
  2. not explained in the help files; and
  3. poorly designed:
    a) Someone should not need to run a new scan to see results of previous ones.
    b) SUI contains “Status Information”, “Last Scan Results”, and “View Scan Results” all grayed out = not accessible.
    c) EUI uses term “Sessions” which is inconsistent with term “Scan Results”.

I’d say the “Enhanced User Interface” section of the help gives a clue…

The results of scans (“sessions”) in Simple UI are not stored - that’s how it is.
If you use Enhanced UI, the sessions are stored, i.e. you don’t have to run a new scan.
