How do you add a program to scan on P2P scanning? (Avast Pro 4.8)

Hi, how do you add a program to scan its received files on P2P Shield?..

Well there are many P2P applications already supported and you just have to ensure that the option is checked for that (most are checked by default), but you don’t mention what P2P application you are talking about ?

So if your P2P application is supported the files downloaded should be scanned automatically.

If you could expand your question as it isn’t too clear what the problem is or if this is a request to support a new P2P application.

For example, i use Foxy to download files more frequently than other P2P programs, then, how do i manually add it to the list to scan?..

If Foxy isn’t in the P2P-list in avast!, the program is not supported. I don’t use P2P, so I am not sure if Foxy is in the list.

You can’t add your own program to the list.

Maybe you can add “C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashQuick.exe” in Foxy, if that is a command you can use in the program.

I’m not sure of what you meant by adding that file in Foxy…You meant copy and paste that file to Foxy files?..

In Foxy, does it it have an option to scan downloads with an anti-virus ?

If it does, then the path and file name given by Bluesman is what you would enter.

Yes, as David said, there maybe is an option in Foxy to add ashQuick.exe there…so the downloaded files is checked.

Some “download-programs” have options in the program settings, so you manually can add C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashQuick.exe to scan downloads with avast.
