It says “Number of Infections: 1”, but I have no idea how to get rid of this infection… I scanned with Panda Active Scan Pro Online, Bit Defender online, but they didn’t find anything…
Can you say what is the infected file name, where was it found (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx)?
What avast! version and virus database are you using? (see About dialog of avast!)
It wasn’t found, it is when I access a website, this is what it says. Last Infected: smicrosoft.ru/sp2/index.php
I am using avast! 4.8 antivirus protection and the virus databse number is 090325-0
Welcome to the forums, Verkor. ![]()
I really think you should not be visiting smicrosoft (dot) ru as the site contains malware.
See this link for more info … http://www.malwaredomainlist.com/mdl.php?search=smicrosoft.ru
Most likely, no infection occurred as it was probably Webshield that blocked your access to a malicious site.
So I do not need to reboot my computer in safemode and acess the Local Settings to deleted the Temporary Internet File with the infected folder? This is how I was doing before having avast!..
If you can answer Tech’s questions above, we can know for sure. ![]()
So it was detected by Webshield and the connection was dropped. Your computer is clean.
You can use Silent Mode:
Left click the ‘a’ blue icon.
It will start On-access protection
Click on WebShield and then on Customize.
Go to Advanced tab and select Silent Mode that means that avast will keep pressing the “Abort connection” button for the user automatically.
Hi Tech,
The only problem I see with the above suggestions is that the average user will not remember nor understand why they can not get to certain sites. Then, they will be back here with the problem of “I can’t get to that site” or “I can’t get to another site.”
I think it is better that they get the message because then it is less problamatic to solve.
Snap, I don’t like ‘silent’ anything, I prefere to know what is going on in my system.
Yes, I think the same… but for those users who want silent mode, it would be an option.
