How Do You Delete Viruses??

I’m using Avast version 4.8 free home edition. I just scanned my pc and avast found 5 infected files. Where do I go to delete them? I went to the Virus Chest but there was only 2 in there.

Not sure why you only see 2 viruses in the chest if avast detected 5… I guess it’s possible that avast found more than one threat in a single file. ???

But, there’s no need to hurry up and delete any files in the chest. The files stored there are disabled from running so they can do no harm to your computer. In fact, it’s always best to ‘move to chest’ rather than ‘delete’ just in case there’s a false positive detection. If it turns out a file has been falsely detected as being infected and you’ve moved it to the chest, you can always return it to where it was before.
